For owners, it means that Sojourn Realty’s clients can access a hybrid approach to ensure greater occupancy and revenue generation for their properties. Sierra is a licensed real estate broker and founder of Host My Home, a company specializing in helping property owners maximize their investments through short-term rentals. Her journey into real estate began in 2018 after discovering the BiggerPockets podcast, which sparked a passion for real estate investing. As a military spouse new to Florida, she initially set out to house hack a duplex but quickly pivoted to Airbnb when multi-family homes were hard to find. By renting out spare bedrooms, she not only covered her mortgage but also generated additional income, blending her background in hospitality with her growing interest in real estate.
This experience led her to create Host My Home, where she now helps property owners turn their homes into cash flow generators. After relocating to Virginia, she became an active participant in local investor meetups, sharing her expertise in short-term rentals. Her approach has empowered many clients to expand their portfolios from one property to multiple, achieving their investment goals. Balancing her thriving business with her family life as a mother of two, Sierra is passionate about supporting her team, clients, and family while continuing to grow in the real estate industry.
Dunnzy is from Winnipeg, Manitoba, and started Sojourn after a 25-year legal career. Dunnzy holds an LLM from Georgetown and worked in Big Law in Toronto before starting her own practice in Washington, DC. Alongside this, she advised a Canadian healthcare and hospitality staffing start-up and managed a 6 unit furnished rental property in Capitol Hill. It was here that the hybrid model that Sojourn has implemented was created. Dunnzy is passionate about solving complex problems and excellent customer service. As Co-founder and CEO, she continues to innovate and grow Sojourn as a unique hospitality brand.
Nicole is a detail-oriented and creative entrepreneur. With a background in marketing and hospitality, she excels in high-stress environments. She started NHP, a property management company for short-term Airbnb rentals, where she perfected guest services. Leveraging her operational expertise, she created an innovative furnished housing company. Simultaneously, Nicole leveraged her inherent understanding of operations and people to plan events at night clubs around Washington, DC. As Cofounder and COO of Sojourn, Nicole focuses on ensuring that both clients and guests receive the conceirge-level, personalized service that Sojourn strives to provide. She currently splits her time between Washington, DC and the Tidewater Region.
Mel is our Director of Business Development, she is a West coast native turned Virginia Beach local. She leapt into the world of real estate and hospitality through owning and operating furnished rentals, while also being a top producing licensed Realtor. By combining her expertise, creativity and warmth, Mel makes a dynamic addition to our team!
She participates as a host for the STR Sisterhood; empowering and mentoring women nationwide as real estate operators and owners, she has cultivated local real estate and hospitality meet-ups and online support groups to those in the industry. In her free time, she loves to meet new people at local restaurants and events. She enjoys staying active through hiking in the mountains or walking on the beach with her dog Murphy.
